Bookings
On its own, or with any other base.
Let customers book your time online. Coming
Coming: an online booking system where customers choose a service and a time, and each booking sits in your diary beside your till and your stock.
What it is for
Let customers book online Coming
They choose a service from your price list and a time that is free.
Keep one diary for the team Coming
A diary for each person, chair or bay, with every booking in it.
Book in drop-offs at set times Coming
Customers choose when to bring something in for a job on your price list.
Take payment at the till Coming
Charge for each booking at the till, and sell products beside it from the same stock count.
Who it may suit
- Salons and barbers
- Clinics and therapists
- Workshops with service bays
- Repairers taking drop-offs at set times
- Any business whose customers book a time
Why it helps
Your price list is ready today
Keep the services you offer and their prices in one list, in your own words, each saying what it promises.
One stock for your shelf
The products you sell beside your services are counted once, at the till and online.
No charge per person
The price is per shop, never per person. Give every member of staff their own log-in and role.
Runs on what you already have
The till and your price list work on a computer, tablet or phone.
What it does
Bookings
- Online booking, for customers to choose a time Coming
- A diary for each person, chair or bay Coming
- Bookings for the services on your price list Coming
- Payment at the till, with products sold from the same stock Coming
On its own, or tied in
On its own, it keeps your diary and takes bookings online, with no till or website needed (coming).
Modules on top Coming
A module is an extra feature on top of a base. Switch on only the ones you want, the way you add apps to a phone, and pay for each one by itself. Switch one off and everything it recorded stays.
Reminder texts Coming
A text to each customer before their booking. On Bookings.
Bookkeeping and accounts Coming
Every sale, refund and supplier order kept as your books, with nothing typed in twice. On every base.
AI built into Talstok Coming
Reports, analysis and help building your website, on a monthly allowance. On every base.
Put AI to work here
AI is always optional. Every part works in full without it.
Ask your assistant to add the services you offer to your price list, with a price for each.
Ask your assistant to set your opening hours, and the dates you close, for your own website to show.
Ask your assistant to list your services with what each costs and any turnaround you set.
Questions about bookings
Can I use just bookings?
Bookings is coming. Like every base, it works on its own or tied to any of the others.
Do I need a website?
No. A website is one of the bases, and it is optional. Run your business with no website, or use Talstok for your website alone.
What does Talstok cost?
Talstok costs from £20 a month for each shop that takes real money, depending on the parts it uses. Test shops are free.
What happens to my records if I switch it off?
Switch a part off, or stop paying, and nothing you recorded is deleted.
Download your stock, customers and reports as spreadsheets at any time. The owner can also download the whole shop, including the parts that are switched off.
Can customers book online?
Not yet. Online booking for appointments is coming, with the rest of Bookings, and no part of it is built today.
Today you can keep a price list of your services, sell at the till and keep your stock.
What can a business that takes bookings use today?
The till, stock keeping, a price list of your services and an online shop, each on its own or together.
A salon, for example, sells each treatment at the till as a product whose stock is not counted, beside the products on its shelves.
Can my own website take bookings?
Not through Talstok yet, because Bookings is coming. A website built on your Talstok records can show your services, prices and opening hours today, and take bookings with a booking tool of its own.
Can customers book a time to bring something in?
Not yet. Booking a drop-off time is part of Bookings, which is coming. Today your price list gives each job a price and a turnaround in days, for your own website to show.
Does it send reminder texts?
Not today. Reminder texts are coming, as a module on Bookings: a text to each customer before their booking.
Can I take deposits, sell gift cards or work out staff commission?
Not today. Deposits, gift cards and commission for each member of staff are not built.
Can a clinic keep patient records in it?
No. Talstok is not built to hold health or treatment records. Keep them in the system you use for them now.
Will it work with my calendar, or bring in bookings from the system I use now?
Not today. Bookings is coming, so there is no diary yet to link to a calendar or to fill from another system. The spreadsheet import brings in products only, not customers or bookings.
When is Bookings ready?
No date is set. The Ledger lists the main changes, dated, as they go live.
