Services

Use it on its own, or with any other base.

A price list for the work you do, published for your own website. Job tracking Coming

Price the work you do in your own words, by the job or by weight, with a turnaround and a call-out price where you offer them.

What it is for

  • Show your prices on your website

Each job and what it costs, published for a website of your own. A developer or a coding assistant connects the site to your list.

  • Prices for each thing you work on

A price for each thing you work on, or for each of its options, and how many days the job takes.

  • Price by weight or volume

A price per gram or millilitre, such as for gold added to a chain or a service wash.

  • Work at the customer’s address

A call-out price beside the price of the job, for when you go to the customer.

  • Charge for each job and follow it Coming

Each job charged from your price list at the till or online, and followed from start to finish.

Who it may suit

  • Repairers
  • Salons and clinics
  • Tradespeople
  • Cleaners
  • Tutors
  • Any business that sells its time or its skills

Why it helps

  • In your own words

Name each job the way you and your customers do, and say what it promises, such as a warranty of 12 months.

  • Confirmed by someone at your business

A price loaded by a script or an assistant is published as unconfirmed until someone at your business confirms it.

  • A slipped digit caught

A price far out of line with the same job’s other prices is held back until whoever set it says it is right.

  • Past prices on record

Change a price and the old one stays on record.

What it does

Your price list

  • A price list of the work you do, in your own words, each one saying what it promises
  • Prices for the job, or per gram or millilitre, set for each product or option you work on
  • A turnaround in days for each price
  • A call-out price for work at the customer’s address
  • A from price for each job, taken from its lowest confirmed price
  • Every price change kept, so past quotes stay on record
  • Your price list, published for your own website to show

Selling the work

  • Each job charged at the till or online, from your price list Coming
  • Parts for each job taken from your stock Coming
  • Each job followed from start to finish Coming
  • Customers booking a time for a job, with Bookings Coming

Modules on top Coming

A module is an extra feature on top of a base. Switch on only the ones you want, the way you add apps to a phone, and pay for each one by itself. Switch one off and everything it recorded stays.

  • Bookkeeping and accounts Coming

Every sale, refund and supplier order kept as your books, with nothing typed in twice. On every base.

Put AI to work here

AI is always optional. Every part works in full without it.

  • Ask your assistant to add a new job and price it for each thing you work on, for someone at your business to confirm.

  • Ask your assistant to load your price list from a spreadsheet, up to 2,000 prices at a time, and to tell you which prices are still to be confirmed.

  • Ask a coding assistant, such as Claude Code, to show your price list on your website, with a from price for each job that has a confirmed price.

  • AI built into Talstok Coming

Reports and analysis of your jobs and prices. A module. On every base.

Questions about Services

Can I use just Services?

Yes. Every base works on its own. Use Services alone, or tie it to any other base, and they share one set of products, one stock count and one order list.

Do I need a website?

No. A website is one of the bases, and it is optional. Run your business with no website, or use Talstok for your website alone.

What does Talstok cost?

Talstok costs from £20 a month for each shop that takes real money, depending on the parts it uses. Test shops are free.

What happens to my records if I switch it off?

Switch a part off, or stop paying, and nothing you recorded is deleted.

Download your stock, customers and reports as spreadsheets at any time. The owner can also download the whole shop, including the parts that are switched off.

How do I bring my products in?

Paste in a spreadsheet of up to 2,000 new products, and every row is checked and shown to you before anything is saved. It uses its own column headings and brings in products only, without photos.

A developer or an AI assistant can bring a whole catalogue in from a file, photos included, once your old system’s export is put in the right shape.

Moving across from Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, Wix and similar is coming.

What is service business software?

Software for a business that sells its work, such as a repair, a treatment, a clean or a lesson. It usually keeps a price for each job, and often the jobs in hand and the bookings. In Talstok, Services keeps your price list in your own words and publishes it for your own website. Following each job is coming, and so is Bookings, for customers to book a time.

Can I set a different price for each thing I work on?

Yes. Each price is for one product, the thing you work on, such as a phone model, a bike or a boiler. One price can cover every version of it, such as a new screen for the iPhone 13 in any colour, or each option can have its own price.

What if the work is not done to a thing, such as a treatment or a lesson?

Make a product to hold its prices, such as Haircut. It can stay a draft, so it is never on sale itself. Give it an option, such as hair length, and each choice can have its own price.

Can I price by the hour?

No. A price is for the whole job, or per gram or per millilitre. Work of a set length, such as a one-hour lesson, can be priced as a job of its own.

Can I add a call-out price for work at the customer’s address?

Yes. Each price can carry a call-out price, one figure for the visit, shown with the job. Travel zones and mileage are not built.

Can I load my price list from a spreadsheet?

Not on the dashboard today, where each price is typed in. A developer, or an AI assistant connected with a key, can add your jobs and load up to 2,000 prices at a time, each waiting for someone at your business to confirm it.

Does my online shop show the price list?

Not today. The online shop Talstok runs for you does not show it. A website of your own can, from the price list Talstok publishes for any website to read: each job, its prices, its turnaround and call-out price, and a from price for each job with a confirmed price. A developer or a coding assistant can build one.

Can customers book a time with me online?

Not today. Bookings is coming. Today your website can show each job and what it costs, from the price list Talstok publishes.

Can I charge for the work at the till or online?

Not from your price list today. Set the work up as a product whose stock is not counted and publish it, and it sells at the counter with Till, or online with Online shop, like anything else.

Charging a job straight from your price list, with the parts it uses taken off your stock count and each job followed from start to finish, is coming.

Can I sell parts and products beside my work?

Yes. With Till, Online shop or both, parts, aftercare and anything else you sell are ordinary products, sold from one stock count.

Can I buy items in from customers too?

Partly, with Buying in. Set what you pay for each item and grade, and your own website can quote sellers through the API. Carrying the quote through to the purchase, online or at the counter, is coming, with each item you buy added to your stock automatically.

Start in three steps.

  1. Ask for a free test copy

Write to us, and we set up a test shop where no money moves.

  2. Switch on Services

Turn on Services in Settings, Features, under Products.

  3. Name and price your work

Add each job in your own words with its prices, and a turnaround and call-out price if you offer them.

From £20 a month. For each shop that takes real money, depending on the parts it uses. Test shops are free.
