Salons: the till and stock today, appointments coming
Talstok runs a salon’s till and the stock of products you sell. Appointments are coming, and are not built yet.
Working today
The till, for treatments and the products on your shelves. Stock, a price list and an online shop.
- Coming
Appointments
Bookings kept with your stock and payments. Not built yet.
Treatments and products at one till
Set each treatment up as an item whose stock is not counted, and sell it beside the shampoo on the shelf.
- Take cash, or record a card-machine payment or a bank transfer.
- Email the receipt when the client wants one.
- See the day’s takings by payment method at closing.
- Refund a sale from its order, and the refund is recorded against it.

What else works for a salon today
Stock for what you sell
Counts, low-stock levels, suppliers and purchase orders for retail products, with batches and dates where you want them.
A price list
Keep the jobs you do with their prices, per job or per unit. A website you already have can show the list from the public catalogue. The online shop does not show it yet, and the till does not charge from it.
An online shop
Sell your retail products online from the same stock, with delivery or click and collect.
Staff
Each person logs in with their own email and a role: owner, manager, packer or viewer.
Not built yet: connecting to a card reader, and printed receipts; gift cards, loyalty and store credit; commission for each stylist; showing the price list on the online shop, and charging for a treatment straight from it (set each treatment up as an item to sell it).
Appointments: coming, not built yet
Planned as a part of Talstok for salons and anyone who sells their time. Nothing below works today.
Bookings, stock and payments together
Bookings, the stock you use and sell, and the payments you take, in one system.
For anyone who sells time
For salons and barbers, and for repairers and anyone else who books customers in.
Price and date
Neither is decided. The Ledger will date it when it goes live, and the pricing page will show its price.
Questions
Can clients book online?
Not yet. Appointments are coming, and are not built. Today a salon can use the till, the stock and the price list.
Can I sell treatments at the till?
Yes. Set each treatment up as an item whose stock is not counted, and it sells at the till like anything else, beside the products on your shelves.
What will appointments cost?
Not yet decided. Appointments are coming, and so are plans for each kind of shop, with add-ons on top. The pricing page will give their prices once they are set.
See it with your own products
A test shop is free. Nothing in it is real: no money moves, and it never emails a customer. You pay only once a shop takes real money.
